"Take note fans of baggy, aceeeeiiiid, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, and all things Madchester… Radio Two are to run a four part series documenting the Mancunian vibe, appropriately titled, ‘Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches’. The show, which is hosted by Stuart Maconie, looks at the history of the Madchester explosion over four programmes, the first of which – next Wednesday - examines the fashion of the period. No doubt they’ll be a few thirty something’s featured, remembering their disastrous baggy flares, smiley face t-shirts and such like. "
I did an interview for this, and have a copy on cd (well two cds)it must be in 4 parts, very biased toward indie stuff rather than dance, but not bad for radio2
There's a short snippet from Graham on this week's programme (round about the 22 minute mark) briefly talking about the Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses.
You can still listen to this week's show (until Wednesday) at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/doc ... ster.shtml and click on the 'Listen Again' button. You can also skip through most of the program in 5 minute intervals as well!
